A Return Pulling From a Dusty Tampa Garage Shop
A Tampa return that shares air with a garage shop will load filters and dust the house. We treat that as a return-path problem, not a bigger air cleaner.
Shop dust in the house is often the return, not the coil
We still find Pinellas and Hillsborough returns that sit on a garage wall, or a jump that pulls from a workshop with the door open. The filter cakes. The house smells like sawdust. The owner buys a thicker filter. The blower then starves. The shop is the return. That is not an indoor-air gadget problem first.
Sealing and relocating that path belongs under air duct and vent repair. Equipment that is not cooling still belongs on A/C repair. Whole-house air questions after the path is honest sit under indoor air assessment.
Close the shop from the return before you chase MERV
Photograph the return grille, the garage, and whether the shop door stays open while the system runs. A dedicated shop mini-split can be the cleaner split when the garage is a real workspace. See mini-split repair after we confirm the central return is the leak.
Humidity in a tight house after we stop pulling garage air may still need dehumidifier services. Do not keep dropping the setpoint to hide dust.
What to send
Return photos, shop photos, and filter photos. Call (813) 400-0123 or use contact us. We cover Greater Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida.
Stop letting a dusty garage shop feed the return. The house will load until that path is closed.
